I am looking for the parents (and what I found may have been grandparents as the dates go further back) of Margareta Antin Ruokamo B. 16.12.1749-D.14.01.1818. I found a family file at this web link:

If you look up under 'R' for Ruokamo-Karjalainen AND Ruokamo you will see that I found her parents: Antti-Pekka Karjalainen Ruokamo Son and Riitta Maatta Antti's Daughter. (I do not know what the Son and Daughter refer to)

* Mother: Riitta Maatta Antti's Daughter (1722 - 11/24/1783)

Reeta Antti's daughter was born 16/12/1749 .3 He was baptized in Kuusamo Kuusamo, 30.12.1749 .3 Reeta (21 years old) and Matti Walrus (the age of 24) married 7/14/1771. Reeta (age 55) and Heikki Heikinpoika Maatta (56 years old), whose parents are Simon son Heikki Maatta and Anna Ahonen, Matti's daughter, married 04/07/1805. Reeta Antin Ruokamo daughter died 14.1.1818 68 years of age.


I hope you can give me a chronological list of who these people are. I know Margareta's dates AND her Father and Mother but the other people I'm lost between the Antti's, Heikki Maatta, Anna Ahonen, and who belongs to who. I have myself all confused and turned around.

The site you linked to uses Finnish versions of given names. That is correct in the sense that Kuusamo is a Finnish-speaking area, but I have written the names as they appear in the church books. The two-part surnames mean that the person has lived in several houses, as family names in the modern sense didn't really exist at that time.

Oops, a few corrections. I mixed up the two Annas; so I accidentally listed Anna Lämsä as d.o. Matts. The other one died 11 March, not December, 1770. The post above is updated.
