The above link shows a segment of the births in 1727 in Kemijarvi. The page on the left, last entry seems to show the birth of a baby named Malin. I think. I am looking for the Malin Aska that was born 10 Mar 1727 and this is the only Malin I have found in 1727. I also checked the date of 03 Oct 1727 and have not found her birth date.
Could you verify the last name of the Malin found at this link. I doubt that it is her and that I will have to search more, but just incase I would like verify this entry.
Kiitos
Janice

Malin's father here is Peer Kellonniemi and date of birth 2 January 1727

I was wondering if Malin is from Sodankylä area...? There is a village called Aska about 20km south from Sodankylä.

Sodankylä communion books
1731-1739: http://www.sukuhistoria.fi/sshy/sivut/j ... 29&pnum=12
1740-1749: http://www.sukuhistoria.fi/sshy/sivut/j ... 29&pnum=39
show Matts Johansson Aska and among his sisters Malin with communion markings from 1 Feb 1736 to 26 Dec 1744. The first communion was possible at around the age of 15, making her birth year ca. 1721 :?
Sodankylä birth records are not available before 1759 :(

Thank you both for checking on Malin's birth date. I found the date on 2 family records in Ancestry along with her death date. I was able to verify the death date for Malin and her marriage in 1748. Well, some families are more of a mystery than others. It took me over a year to find my great grandfather only to find he married the farmers daughter and changed his last name. I came across the name but didn't think of him changing his name.
Maybe something will come up in the future about Malin.
Thanks for looking into this for me, I appreciate it.
